Club Covergirl Task 4!

Ok, so it is now Round 4 so this task is going to be more challenging.

Right so previous tasks have been all about developing skills. They have included being able to style your medoll, creating poses for a theme and doing cover photoshoots.

This round will have two parts to it; a theme given to the whole group and then individual themes from which you have to make a scenery with a complex pose and appropriate styling. This round will push you all, but will hopefully challenge you to help you improve your skills to take them to the next level.

PART 1.
This is for everyone to complete, and MUST be labled CG R4 P1 so that it is clear!

> Create a scenery in the club
> Theme  = Beach
> Create an original and complex pose
> Use styling appropriate to the theme (change hair and makeup etc)
> MUST use your own medoll
> Make sure the background is in keeping with the theme (but remember its all about the pose so the background does not need to be complex - less is more!)
> Have a short description
> Have a link to a blog or tinypic/imgur image. (I know that some of you isn't allowed to do this so please contact me so we can work something out)

For this task you will all be assigned a theme. I want to see your individual creativity and as no one else will have your theme, you each have a chance to shine.

> Create a Scenery in the club using your theme
> Must have a complex pose appropriate to the theme

> Provide a link as before (again if you aren't allowed please contact me and if you have problems read the tutorial on the blog first but if there are still issues then contact me)

Remember: This is a FASHION photoshoot so even though the themes are very different, you need to create a fashion shoot out of your theme, with a great pose!

Ok, so those are the two tasks. I know that they are hard, and please contact me if you need to, but esspecially with part 2, really research and think about your theme. You need to understand it before you turn it into a scenery.

The first part of this round is as follows:

>Write at least one paragraph of what Christmas means to you and why you think you should be crowned Miss Christmas.

• 1 paragraph means at least 5 whole sentences, but please write more if you want to
• You should think about all aspects of Christmas, not just getting presents! But I don't necessarily mean the religious aspect, although that might be a big part of it.
• Consider qualities you have and have shown that are significant to being Miss Christmas.

>You can do this via dollmail, or write up your task on a programe like Microsoft Word and then take a screen print and load it to tinypic/imgur then send me the link. You can't write it in the topic because it doesn't let you write enough.

The second part of your task is:

>Create a Christmas Photoshoot scenery. You need to consider the modelling aspect of being crowned Miss Christmas

 I really like this! The make up is very pretty and not overdone, but definately has a festive feel to it. The outfit is good, although I'm not 100% sure about the jacket/cardigan, I like the red and white colours and the shoes are fab!

I like your take on the theme! The fairy idea is really sweet, and you definately show the theme! While I can see you were trying to create boots with the sleeves, I don't completely think they work. Nice idea though! I like the dress, and the hair is perfect but maybe not the hoop earings - I don't think they fit the fairy theme. But overall well done!

Twiilight.Freak = 8/10

Firstly I think your make up is gorgeous! Love the way you have applied it and added just enough so it doesn't look too heavy. Outfit wise it is definately to the theme with very fesitve colours. However, I think it needs something else added, maybe a different colour to break it up, or a bag/belt or a patten. To me it seems I little too blocked but I completely get that you were using the fesitve colours which is completely right for the theme and the hair.makeup is lovely! Overall great job!

LuvMeOrHateMe = 8/10

I really like this outfit. The creativity is great! Using the braces somehow brings it all together and it makes it look much better than if there were no braces. Well done for doing that :) I would have prefered it without the cat, even though its quite sweet, but overall I think this works, although maybe you could have been more fesitve with hair/makeup?

Ok, so the colours are definately to the theme of christmas. I really like your makeup - you have kept your own style but added some eye colours and blusher which looks really good and the hair colour is good, although I think it clashes a little with the bright red of the top. The outfit is good, but it does feel like it is lacking something because it is quite blocked. I understand though that you were just using the red and white colours, but maybe some gold or a different shade would have looked good? Overall well done, a good entry :)

lisag.ie = 6/10

 So first this is definately festive! However to me it does seem a bit mismatched. The skirt, shirt and shoes all go together but the collar and hat seem to be out of place in both style and colour. I like you makeup, although I think the blusher is a bit too much and the colour doesn't really go with the accessories. Probably I would have added a waist belt and scarf maybe, or something similar. Also I think that skirt needs something underneath it to add layers. It does go with the theme though so good effort, well done!

CandyLilyMay =5/10

I like how you have only used a little make up and changed the mouth to fit the theme. The hair is very pretty as well. However, I'm not sure I see the christmas theme in the outfit. For me the colours aren't christmasy, but maybe you are going down the snow flake route? I'm not sure but I don't think it shows the theme fully I'm afraid. But I really like your hair and makeup styling!

First I really like the originality! The hair and makeup is pretty and fun and the dress is very creative! I really like your take on this theme and it is definately festive! Maybe it could have been a little more stylish, but it is really fun and almost looks like a Mrs Christmas look! Really good job!!

Ok, well I can see links to the christmas theme, however for me the outfit looks more like a school uniform than a christmas outfit unfortunately. I think if it had had a red belt or maybe a scraf then it would have had the strong link though. Your makeup is very pretty though, and just right! So well done!

Ok, I think this is really great! It is all about christmas - the theme is tottally there and the outfit looks really pretty! Your make up is really good too, it keeps the theme, looks fun and stylish. Overall I don't have much else to say except really good job! Well done :)

So, first I definately see the christmas theme. The outfit is quite stylish and I like the way you have used the broaches to create the belt and the bows on the bottom of the skirt. Really great creativity! I'm not sure about the boots and tights though - they don't quite go with the rest of the outfit. However the makeup is really pretty and festive so well done!

This is definately in the theme - I can see the christmas link so well done for that. I like how you added the bows and the way you have styled it with the belt and gloves. But, for me I think it needs something else, maybe an underskirt because for me that skirt needs something else with it. Also it would have been good if your makeup had been more festive. But good job - it definately fits the theme so well done!

Ok, I can see the christmas links here so well done. I like the earings and makeup, however I think the outfit could have been a bit more christmasy. I like the santa hat and the wintery look, but maybe some festive legings and wintery boots would have been better. however good effort and I can see the links so well done :)

Ok, so I like this outfit. It is very couture like and the skirt reminds me of the snow queen but then the pink and red colours make it jolly. The layering is a great effect and I really like the hair piece. I think some makeup would have been good - maybe a red lipstick and some blusher (which you can add in the starplazza dressing room) to give it a fully finished look. But I love how stylish this is so well done!! A good entry :)

I really like this outfit. It is clear that you read the task description properly and really thought about your entry. This outfit is casual and relaxed whilist still looking smart and proffesional. I love the fresh colours used and the very modern and stylish feel they create. I think you have created a very strong entry here, so excellent work!

 This entry has both strong points and slightly weaker points to it. I like the dress you have chosen, its definately stylish however on its own like that I think it looks too smart/formal for an everyday outfit, even for a model! If you had paired it with a relaxed jacket I think that would have balenced it out. The makeup is good, just the right amount, but I feel overall the outfit needs something else to balence it out and bring it together. However it is still good work and definately in the right direction so well done.

CandyLilyMay = 6/10

 Right, I think there are both strengths and weaknesses here. I like that you have gone completely neautral in makeup, thats great and completely to the theme. The hair style is pretty, but maybe a bit too styled, but I like it. I think the dress is a good choice, however I think it needed to be styled with very different accessories. Personally I think a jacket, waist belt and larger everyday bag would have been better for this theme. Overall, while the dress is nice, the whole outfit just doesn't have the impact which it needed. But I think you did understand the theme because you haven't gone overboard, and have embraced natural beauty so well done!

 This is a great entry. I can definately see the theme here, the colours make the outfit very relaxed but the actual items look stylish and the shoes are a perfet choice. The belt is a great addition and the hair stylish is a really good choice because its casual but still looks stylish. If I had one critisim it would be the black nail varnish because I think the colour is too dark for this outfit, however its minor. Overall a really great entry, well done!

Twiilight.Freak = 10/10

This is gorgeous! You have got the task exactly. Its casual and relaxed but bang on trend and carefully accessorised for maximum effect. The colours are just right and the makeup is well balenced and applied. Overall i think this a actually a perfect entry, it was exactly what I was thinking of when I wrote it to be honest! Well done!

Ok, I think there was a little confusion over the task here. While its great that you practised your posing, that was not what this task required. This task was all about styling, and while I love the way you have styled your face, I can't really see any outfit. Good effort, and an interesting pose, just not quite what the task was about unfortunately.

bracken1234 = 7/10

 I like your take on this task. This is quite a different approach to the styling and I think it almost works, but not quite. I think having that jaket and long skirt together is a bit too much. If you have gone down a bohemian route with the long skirt or maybe used a short skirt/trousers with the jacket either would have worked, but to me this combination just doesn't quite work. Sorry, I like your hairstyle though and the natural face look. Good try, and almost there so well done :)

lali-nena-nen4e = 7/10

To me, for an everyday casual outfit I think this is a little too styled. The theme was natural beauty and understated elegance, but to me, while this is a good outfit, it doesn't quite fit the task. I think if you hadn't used the leg warmers or tights then the skirt and top combo would have been great, but the darkness of those items makes this outfit too overpowering for a casual look in my opinion. Great for the evening though! Overall well done, I really like parts of this entry, but I think it just needs a few changes.

HattyLOL = 6.5/10

Ok, so I can definately see that you understood the casual and everyday element to this task. However I think you have taken it a little too far. To me I instantly think about a sports kit when I see this outfit. The elegance and style seem to be lacking here. I think if this hadn't had the socks and shoes but had heels and a bag and maybe a jacket to balence it out this would have been a strong entry, but to me this is a little too casual for a model look. In contrast I think the eye makeup is too heavy for the theme. Sorry, good effort though and if this was a stylish sports outfit this would be awesome! :)

Christmas Special Round 2.

Right, first just a reminder to all those who did not complete the last task - you must complete this task and/or contact me if there are issues. If you know that you will not be able to complete any of the tasks because real life is very busy etc, then please contact me saying so.

Ok, so for your second task you need to create a christmas themed outfit. Now you could interpret this is many ways. Maybe you go for christmas colours/patterns, or dress as a stylish christmas character, or use christmas decor items to create a stylish outfit. Its up to you, you can take this theme however you want, but the essential part is that your outfit has to be stylish! This competition is for the title of Miss Christmas so you need to embrace the christmas spirt but in a very stylish and fashionable way!

You can either save your outfit to your doll and keep it there untill I have posted the results, or take a photo or post in your album (as long as the image is clear) or present it in a scenery (no pose required!) or you can post a link to a tinypic or imgur image. However you choose to save it you need to say in the topic comments so i can find it!

Summary:

Right so this week the task is all about knowing what suits you and how to look your best. As a covergirl/model you need to know how to dress and style yourself so you always look at your best. However it's important to be as natural as possible - stylists on the photoshoots can style you will lots of makeup, but in everyday life you need to be able to look your best in a natural way.

So, the task is to style your medoll in the look that best suits you. However, it needs to be natural ie not loads and loads of makeup or fashion shoot outfit - just dress as you would in an everyday situation if you were a model. A model needs to show a natural sense of style and sophistication and emphasise their beauty, but not hide it with too much makeup or too bold clothing.

Summary:
>Style your medoll in a way that emphasises natural beauty.
>As a model you should only emphasise your beauty, not go over the top - try to dress in a way that shows your own style but that is also elegant and understated.
>You should post a link to your look on the club topic. You can use imgur or tinypic to do this. This would be the best way to show your look. If you don't know how to post links look on the tutorial tab of this blog, or the topic in the club.
You can use the starplazza for makeup and clothing if you want to and can take a print screen of the doll in the dressing room in its outfit then upload it to an image sharing site.

This is due by Wednesday 21st of December.

Christmas Special Competition R1

Ok, so this competition is all about finding a Miss Christmas! Cheesy name I know, but I want to find the medoll model who encapsulates the christmas spirit and has a range of skills to do that with. Its not just about making sceneries. The competition will have 5 rounds, and after each round there will be an elimination. Tasks will range from sceneries, to outfit design and also involve some writing tasks.

To make it in this competition you need to be dedicated. If you miss a round you could very easily be eliminated, although of you contact me in plently of time allowences will be made. You also need to show that you understand the concept of this competition, and that you are versitle and full of the joys of christmas. Again, that may sound very cheesy, but hey, you signed up for it! :)

I think you will all find it a lot of fun though, and remember its the taking part that counts!

So without further waffling, here is your first task:

It starts of fairly easy, your task is to create a scenery showing the Christmas Spirit. This means create a scenery which is all about the joys of christmas, not just the material gain (ie presents) although of course that is great, but about how it can bring people together and create lots of happiness and joy.

Of course a complex pose is essential, remember this is about the modelling as well! I don't want to just see one arm, I want you all to push yourself and create an original and suitable pose with many elements to it.

Ok, so as you can see, there are quite a few who signed up for this competition and have so far not completed any entries or contacted me. I notice that a couple of these girls have signed up for the Christmas Special competition and have said they will complete every entry, however to be honest I don't see evidence of that here!


Anyway, I don't think its fair to eliminate girls who have been active in this competition, and therefore all names in RED are eliminated!


I know this is dramatic, but I don't want to go further in this competition with members who arent participating. However i am really sad to have to do this because I know you all had star potential and several of you have been active in earlier competitions. but that is my decision.
